Comedian and actor Kevin Hart will present a trophy to the winning connections of today’s Senorita Stakes at Santa Anita. Hart, who has appeared in several films and has three albums, including the 2011 hit Laugh at My Pain, will do the honors following race seven, the Grade IIII Senorita Stakes.

Santa Anita will lose one of its most valued employees Sunday when Cece Connor, the Paymaster of Purses who has worked at Santa Anita for 33 years, will retire. “I love it here, but I’m old enough to retire, so why not go,” said Connor, who was born in nearby Pasadena and raised in Arcadia, home of The Great Race Place. “I don’t really have a plan, but I will visit my daughter, Leslie, in Henderson (Nevada). “I’d like to do some volunteer work helping others, but I don’t have anything specific in mind right now.”

Sunday is closing day of Santa Anita’s 2014 Spring Meet and there will be mandatory payouts in all exotic wagers, including the Pick Six and the Pick Five. First post time on Sunday is at 1 p.m. Admission gates open at 11 a.m.

Santa Anita "Uncorked": "Santa Anita invites fans to join in for 'Santa Anita Uncorked' next Saturday, June 7, for wine tasting, cuisine sampling, an art show and a day at the races on Belmont Stakes Day when California Chrome seeks the Triple Crown. The session starts at 12 noon in the Club Court in the East Grandstand. Tickets at $60 each include parking, admission, program, wine tasting, cuisine sampling, art exhibit, a souvenir wine glass, a Grandstand seat and exciting Thoroughbred racing. Tickets can be purchased on-line at santanaita.com/events or at the track’s ticket office."

With the prospect of mandatory payout on a Rainbow Pick Six pool from Gulfstream Park that could exceed $20 million, Santa Anita Park has announced that first post time on Monday, Memorial Day, has been adjusted to 1:30 p.m., 30 minutes later than originally scheduled.
