Midnight Bisou, the 2019 champion older mare, was "off" after a workout at Saratoga Monday morning and is headed to see a veterinarian, according to a Twitter post from co-owner Jeffrey Bloom.
Midnight Bisou had an easy routine maintenance breeze this morning at Saratoga. Our champion mare was a bit “off” after cooling out. Out of an abundance of caution she will be sent to Dr. Larry Bramlage in Lexington, KY for a full evaluation. @BloomRacing pic.twitter.com/gSlbSK9uDR— Jeffrey Bloom (@JRBloom3) September 28, 2020
The daughter of Midnight Lute finished second to Vexatious last out in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 1. Before that, she won the Fleur de Lis (G2) at Churchill Downs on June 27. That followed a four-month layoff after her runner-up finish to Maximum Security in the Saudi Cup in February.
For her next race, she was pointed to the Spinster Stakes (G1) at Keeneland on Oct. 4.
